Enough Is Greater Than More

When is enough, enough? After years of building wealth, particularly through Google stock, the question shifts from accumulating more to having the freedom to work and live on your own terms.

Morgan Housel makes a similar point in The Psychology of Money.

In his chapter "Never Enough," he explores how constantly moving the goalposts can lead us to take risks we no longer need to take.

I've seen this working with Google employees over the years.

After accumulating substantial wealth, often through Google stock, the conversation eventually shifts. It's no longer just about growing the portfolio. It's about having enough to step away from the long hours, pursue something else, or make work optional.

That's where financial planning comes in.

Can we demonstrate that their investments and savings can sustain the life they want?
And if we can accomplish those goals with less risk, why wouldn't we consider that?

Because ultimately, it's not always about acquiring more.

It's about knowing when you have enough to own the call.
