The story
Don has spent the last 20 years helping people stop guessing and start building. He took on his first Google client in 2008. In 2012 he went independent and founded Hilpan Moxie to serve 1 audience deeply instead of every audience thinly: software engineers, managing directors, and tech recruiters whose pay runs on grants, vests, and offer letters.
The specialty was deliberate. Big Tech pay behaves like a system, and planning for it demands fluency in RSUs, concentrated stock, severance mechanics, and the taxes that ride along. That fluency is what clients hire.
It worked the slow way. No inherited book, no acquisitions, no paid marketing. The firm grew 1 client at a time, mostly through referrals, and today it is an SEC-registered investment adviser managing more than $100 million for just under 80 households. Client care runs day to day with Marie Claire and Kathleen Ramilo.
Don is also a translator. He builds interactive visualizations that turn financial jargon into something a client can see themselves in, so the plan becomes something you watch work.
